In addition to the film, a 103 page full colour art book, “Human Rights and Citizenship Through the Eyes of Artists,” edited by Harold Pearse, Paul Freeman and Wendy Hollo, has also been published.
Through biography, self portraiture, direct quotes and colourful art reproductions, this book captures the personal and collective journeys of self-discovery as this group of artists explored human rights, citizenship and disability through conversation and art. The images and quotes deliver powerful messages.
The book is available for purchase at a cost of $25.00 through the Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts (plus $5.00 fee for shipping and handling for mail orders). Or purchase the DVD (Through the Eyes of Artists) for $99.00 and receive a copy of the book FREE.
The documentary (51 minutes), an ArtHOUSE Production, has been well received by audiences.
“Poignant, funny, inspiring – a triumph.”
